Bloomingdale's Helps Achieve! PDF Print E-mail

Wednesday, February 27th, at the Mall of America, Bloomingdale’s held a fashionable fundraiser. The sale was private with invitations sent out only to Bloomingdale’s best clientele. The colorful, pink, orange and white invites were the ticket to receiving 15% off anything in the store, minor exceptions did apply. The reason for the event was Bloomingdale’s pledged to donate $3,000.00 to Achieve!Minneapolis. Nancy Lueck, the Regional Director of Public Relations for Bloomingdales, states, “Bloomingdale's takes its philanthropic mission very seriously. We seek to support the communities in our trading areas through various partnerships that raises needed funds for local charitable initiatives.” The fundraiser was but one example of the initiative. Twice a year Bloomingdale’s selects an organization, this year it was Achieve!Minneapolis and other individual charities nationwide, supporting children’s educational needs and futures. Bloomingdales, states, “We salute the work of ACHIEVE!, and are proud to donate $3,000.00 as our honoree for the Fashionable Fundraiser in the Mall of America store, February 27th.”

What is Achieve!Minneapolis? The mission of Achieve! simply is to “galvanize community resources to help all Minneapolis Public School students succeed in school and become productive citizens.” For more information and how you can help go to achieveminneapolis.org.

Bloomingdale’s also supports local charities through the Bloomingdale’s Fund of the Macy’s, Inc. Foundation and Shopping Works Wonders events within the store. Bloomingdale’s has ongoing opportunities and is constantly working with local charities. All in all, just as the invites says “Charity is Chic”!
